On Landguard Point is a major project, funded by Arts Council England as part of the 2012 Cultural Olympiad, and was launched in front of Christchurch Mansion this morning. OLP is a project about “Home”, and explores how we construct our diverse notions of home, what home means to each of us, and what it means to host others in our home.
Suffolk artist Robert Pacitti, who is leading the OLP project says, “On Landguard Point is a collaboration between artists and residents who live in the Eastern region. It will present many opportunities for the public to explore the meaning of home whilst experiencing a project that draws on the histories, cultures, geography and stories that can only be found in the extrarordinary setting of the East. On Landguard Point truly is an East of England adventure in real life and film.”
