Richard Wilson retires as Chairman of FoCP

A painting of tawny owl Mabel, Christchurch Park’s most famous resident, has been presented to Richard Wilson, the retiring Chairman of the Friends of Christchurch Park.

The portrait of Mabel, by Reg Snook, was given to Mr Wilson in recognition of his eight years as chairman. It has been a time during which the membership of the Friends has risen to over 400, the group has published four books about the park and table tennis tables have been installed for visitors to the park to use.
Paying tribute to the work and dedication of her predecessor, new chairman Nicola Johnson said she was looking forward to encouraging and supporting Friends’ initiatives in her term of office.
